If you pass the National NASCLA Exam, you obtain exam transcripts that you may submit to 15+ state licensing boards with your contractor license application. These NASCLA exam transcripts are accepted in lieu of taking the states' technical licensing exam, but all other licensing requirements will still apply. Examples of items to complete to obtain a license in any accepting state after passing the NASCLA exam include passing a state business law exam, submitting proof of work experience, providing financial documentation, and completing state pre-license education courses.
