The exam proctor, PSI, states that Between September 10, 2021 through March 31, 2022, both the 8th and 9th editions of the NASCLA Contractors Guide can be referenced. As of April 1, 2022, the exam will be based on the Virginia 9th Edition only. You can find more information about the exam on the Candidate Information Bulletin from PSI linked here.
