Alabama General Contractor/National NASCLA Exam Prep Course
The NASCLA-Accredited Examination Program was designed to assist contractors who need to be licensed in multiple jurisdictions. Contractors who take the accredited examination can access NASCLA’s Examination Database (NED) and request that their results be sent to other jurisdictions that accept the examination, thereby reducing redundant licensing requirements.
In Alabama, NASCLA is accepted for commercial construction.
The NASCLA Accredited license is recognized for commercial licensing in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia & the Virgin Islands.
Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, the US Virgin Islands, Utah, and West Virginia also accept the NASCLA license to cover residential construction.

Additional Materials
The exam at PSI is open-book. You may bring the approved references into the exam, and reference manuals may be tabbed and highlighted. Tabs must be permanent adhesive tabs - removable tabs such as post-its are not allowed in the examination center. We sell permanent tabs for the NASCLA exam book bundle here.

Books
You may take up to 21 approved reference manuals into the exam. We suggest using 19 of the 21 references, as two of the manuals contain duplicate material found within the other 19 books. You can find our NASCLA exam prep book bundle here.

Additional Courses
Alabama requires all contractor applicants to take and pass both a business law exam and a technical exam. NASCLA fulfills the technical exam requirement for commercial contractors. We also offer exam prep services and materials for the Alabama General Contractors Business and Law exam here.
Exams are administered by PSI and can be scheduled by registering at candidate.psiexams.com
