How to Prepare for Your National Standard Roofing Contractor/Subcontractor (ICC G14) Exam

The National Standard Roofing Contractor/Subcontractor Exam is a test of your knowledge of new roofing construction and re-roofing of commercial and multi-family units, covering such topics as:

It is a three-hour, open book exam consisting of 60 questions.

To pass the exam, you score 70% or higher. Effective preparation involves a thorough review of the study materials provided and relevant national electrical codes and standards. How to Get Your ICC National Standard Roofing Contractor/Subcontractor (ICC G14) Certification

To schedule your ICC Standard Roofing Contractor/Subcontractor Exam, you'll need to:

  • Register with ICC by visiting my.iccsafe.org/register 
  • Submit your application and the $115.00 registration fee. 
  • Register with Pearson Vue and schedule your exam. 
  • Pass the three-hour, open-book test consisting of 60 questions. A 70% score is required to pass.Â
