Note: LSLBC exam applicants may use the approved references within the open-book exam, but books are supplied at the testing center by the LSLBC. You may not bring your own materials into the testing center.

This is an entirely online, self-paced course. Our online pre-recorded content is available 24/7 with unlimited access for 180 days after purchase.

If you require an extension after your initial 180 days of course access, contact our support team to request a course extension for $150.

The Louisiana Statewide Electrical Licensing Exam is open-book. Candidates have four hours (240 minutes) to complete the exam. A passing score of 70% (56 correct questions) is required to pass the 80-question, multiple-choice exam.

The Louisiana Statewide Electrical Exam is open-book. The following references are approved for use within the exam:

• Ugly's Electrical References, 2020 edition
• NFPA 70, National Electrical Code, 2020 edition
• American Electricians' Handbook, 2017 edition
• NFPA 70E: Standards for Electrical Safety in the Workplace, 2021 edition

These references will be supplied at the testing center by the LSLBC for testing candidates. However, it is important to be familiar with these books before entering the timed, open-book exam.
