The International Code Council (ICC) offers three types of electrical certifications, including: 

An ICC G16 Master Electrician is certified to perform all electrical work in compliance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, laws, and regulations. 

An ICC G17 Journeyman Electrician is certified to perform electrical work under the employ of a Master Electrician. 

Certification as an ICC G18 Residential Electrician is required in some localities to perform residential electrical work. Check with the relevant jurisdiction to see if ICC certification is what you need to meet the requirements.
