License Requirements

How to get your Georgia Residential Basic Contractor License

To obtain your Georgia Residential Basic Contractor License you must:

  • Have two years of experience working as or employed by a residential contractor. 
  • Acquire general liability insurance (minimum $300,000 per occurrence) and submit the signed certificate of insurance with your application. 
  • Pass the Georgia Contractors Business Law Exam
  • Pass the Georgia Residential Basic Contractor Exam.
