2020 FBC Advanced: Florida Building Code ‐ Building 7th Edition (2020) ‐ Analysis of Significant Changes from the 2018 International Building Code
This course is intended for those seeking licensure under F.S. 489 part 1 as a Division 1 contractor using the NASCLA Endorsement license qualification process or building and construction contractors from North Carolina, Mississippi, or Louisiana applying for licensure by reciprocity in Florida. This course provides a comparison of the Florida-specific changes to definitions, wind load requirements, and other key changes between the 2018 International Building Code and the Florida Building Code-Building 7th edition (2020).
Applicants for endorsement who have successfully passed the commercial builder examination administered by the National Association of State Contractor Licensing Agencies (NASCLA) as well as applicants applying for a license by reciprocity from accepting states such as North Carolina, Louisiana, and Mississippi will need to pass the Florida Business and Finance examination and affirm that they have taken an exam covering the Florida Building Code. This 1-hour online course fulfills the exam covering the Florida Building Code requirement. This 1-hour course fulfills the endorsement requirement for applicants who have passed the NASCLA Commercial Builder Exam or hold an equivalent out-of-state license from an approved state but does not qualify for the 10-year endorsement course (which requires 2 hours of training).
This 1-hour course is delivered in an interactive internet-delivered format and is timed to ensure active participation for the entire course duration.
This course is approved by the Florida Building Commission, Department of Business and Professional Regulation, and the Construction Industry Licensing Board:

Applying for a Florida license when holding a reciprocated license in another state eliminates having to take a technical licensing exam, one of the steps to obtain a Florida Contractor's license. Florida requires all contractor applicants to take both the Business and Finance exam and a technical exam to obtain a license. Check out our other Florida courses here, including our course for the National NASCLA Commercial Contractor exam!
This course includes an end-of-course quiz to ensure competency within the subject areas discussed.
