Renewing Your Contractors License in North Carolina
To renew an active North Carolina Contractor's License, log in to the state Contractors Licensing Central (CLiC) system using your license number and password. From your account portal, access your renewal application and verify you meet all requirements for renewal, including:
- All qualifiers are still employed through the licensed business
- All contact information is accurate
- Report any liens, lawsuits, judgments, or investigations against the business*
- Report if the business has filed for bankruptcy, receivership, or insolvency*
- Report if any qualifier for the business has been charged with a misdemeanor related to contracting or a felony of any kind*
- Provide financial documentation to provide proof of sufficient working capital
* Supporting documents required if this has occurred within the last year.
All requirements for renewal must be met, including:
- Completion of mandatory continuing education courses
- Payment of all fees prior to renewal submission
