Description

This course package includes two 4-hour courses, a livestream webinar course on 2023 NEC Significant Changes and a 4-hour self-paced course covering 2023 NEC Sizing Requirements & Load Calculations.

2023 NEC Sizing Requirements & Load Calculations Course:

  • Four-hour continuing education course covering critical aspects of the 2023 National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Focuses on essential technical calculations and requirements including raceway sizing, box sizing, conductor calculations, motor calculations, and load calculations for both residential and commercial applications
  • Utilizes comprehensive modules to demonstrate proper sizing methods, protection requirements, and load determination to ensure electrical installations meet current code standards for public safety
  • Concludes with a 50-question assessment, with a passing score of 70% required to receive credit

2023 NEC Significant Changes Course:

  • Four-hour webinar providing a detailed overview of the 2023 National Electrical Code (NEC) updates
  • Covers changes across all code chapters, including new and deleted articles, and revisions to existing requirements
  • Key topics covered include branch circuits, wiring, equipment specifications, special occupancies, renewable energy, emergency power, and communications. 
  • Highlights new articles on topics like cannabis oil equipment and fault-managed power systems
  • Concludes with a 50-question exam, with a passing score of 70% required to receive credit

Live webinars are scheduled between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. EST on select dates. Your online learning dashboard has a list of all live classes.

CE Requirement

In North Carolina, electrical contractors must renew their license every year. To do so, continuing education is required. Limited, Intermediate, and Unlimited license holders must complete eight hours of CE; four of those can be completed online. Restricted license holders much complete four hours of CE, two of those hours can include online courses.

The Contractor Training Center offers several courses that, when offered during fiscal year 2025, meet the requirements of the North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors.
