We offer everything you need to prepare for the Virginia CIC exam.
To prepare for the exam, you will need books and tabs as well as our exam prep course. We also give the option to purchase pre-tabbed and highlighted books, saving you valuable hours of highlighting the information within the books yourself.
Virginia CIC Contractors may perform repairs or improvements to structures not defined as dwellings and townhouses in the USBC. The CBC classification also provides for this function. The CIC classification does not provide for the construction of new buildings, accessory buildings, electrical, plumbing, HVAC or gas work.

Our Virginia Commercial Improvement Contractor (CIC) Exam Prep course is available in three options: live in-person, live-streamed via webinar, and online pre-recorded. Live courses are a one-day intensive prep course, held every 1st, 3rd, and 5th (if applicable) Wednesday of each month from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm ET. Other Licensing Requirements
All Virginia Contractor Applicants are still required to meet other state licensing regulations in order to obtain a license. All applicants must complete the Mandatory 8-Hour Pre-License Course and submit a license application to DPOR. Class A and Class B Applicants must also take and pass a business law exam before submitting a license application to DPOR.
