Alabama Carpentry & Framing contractors may perform work involving framing, finish carpentry, millwork, and other carpentry. In Alabama, a General Contractor's license is required for any project where the cost of the undertaking including labor and materials is $50,000 or more.

Other Licensing Requirements

All license applicants are required to submit a license application to the Alabama Licensing Board for General Contractors prior to scheduling an examination. Once the application is approved, you may then schedule the licensing exams at PSI.

Alabama Carpentry & Framing contractors may perform work involving framing, finish carpentry, millwork, and other carpentry.

This is a commercial license - residential construction is regulated by the Alabama Home Builders Licensing Board (HBLB).

The Alabama Licensing Board for General Contractors offers reciprocity agreements with Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. However, you must have held the same classification of license in one of these states for at least 1 year to qualify for reciprocity.

When obtaining a license through reciprocity, applicants may have the trade exam requirement waived, but are still required to take and pass the Alabama General Contractor Business Law exam.
